A simple wooden stand can quietly transform a postcard into a small moment of presence.
These card holders are crafted from solid alder wood — warm in tone, smooth to the touch, and beautifully understated. I chose alder for its soft grain and natural character. Each piece is treated with a plant-based wax oil made from linseed oil by Biofa, allowing the wood to breathe while enhancing its gentle glow.
The alder wood is sourced locally through our regional timber merchant, who in turn works with wood from nearby forests. It feels important to me that even the smallest details in my webshop carry that same connection to nature.
I have these wooden holders placed throughout our home — on the kitchen shelf, in the hallway, beside my workspace. They hold seasonal illustrations, little reminders, and changing moments of the year. A simple way to let one image become part of your daily surroundings.
A timeless and natural addition to seasonal tables, desks, children’s rooms, or anywhere you wish to give a card a place of its own.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
