Every spring begins with the smallest signs.

A lamb resting in the grass. The first crocuses pushing through the earth. A tiny chick finding warmth beneath a woolly friend. Before the trees are fully green and before the days grow long, nature reminds us that spring doesn’t arrive all at once—it unfolds one small miracle at a time.

Springbreak is a celebration of that very moment. Not the first warm day of the year, but the feeling that winter has finally loosened its grip and the world is quietly coming back to life.

Created for the Seasons Lamp, these illustrated sheets are meant to be returned to, year after year. As the lamp is lit, the illustration glows like the pages of a favourite storybook, filling your home with the golden light of early spring and becoming part of the traditions that welcome a new season.

This illustration is one of my designs for the Seasons Lamp—a wooden lamp created to display interchangeable illustrated sheets throughout the year. Whether displayed on a nature table, in a child’s room, or on a favourite shelf, each artwork is created to celebrate the beauty found in the ordinary moments that return every year.

Inspired by the changing seasons and the traditions they bring, these illustrations celebrate the small signs that often mean the most.
