On a clear winter night, when the moon hangs low and the snow lies deep, a girl sits between two bears.
They do not speak. There is nothing to say.
A blanket rests beneath them. The forest is wide and white. If you listen closely, you can almost hear it — the soft hush of snow settling, the slow breathing of the bears, the small sound your own boots would make if you shifted just a little. It is the kind of moment you remember later, though nothing much happened.
“Sound of Snow” is about sitting close in the cold and feeling completely at ease. About the quiet that comes when you are with those you trust. A gentle postcard for winter words, for someone who understands silence, or for keeping near on long, pale evenings.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
