This illustration was created as an invitation to pause and listen. To step, if only for a moment, into a forest where nothing asks for attention, yet everything feels alive.
A young woman stands quietly among the trees. A robin rests on her finger. Squirrels gather at her feet, unafraid but oh so curious. The light is soft, as it is in the early hours, when the forest seems to breathe more slowly. Nothing happens — and yet everything is present.
You may recognise this feeling. That rare moment when nature feels close and attentive, as if it is meeting you halfway. This artwork grew from a wish to hold on to that stillness, and to give it a visible form.
“Woodland Whispers” carries gentle autumn tones and a sense of calm that settles easily into a home. It finds its place on seasonal tables, in children’s rooms, or wherever quiet stories are welcome.
Let it be a reminder that some things speak softly — and are heard best when the world grows still.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
