This illustration was made with the thought that autumn teaches best by slowing everything down.
In the golden hush of an autumn night, four woodland friends pause together on a fallen tree. A fox, a hedgehog, and two small mice sit beneath drifting leaves, their faces lifted toward the soft light of the moon. Nothing interrupts the moment. Even the forest seems to wait.
You may recognise this feeling. That quiet awe that arrives when the season begins to change — when falling leaves feel less like an ending and more like a gentle turning of the page. Wonder Fall grew from a wish to hold on to that pause, when noticing becomes enough.
With its warm, glowing tones and calm presence, this print brings a sense of seasonal stillness into a home. It belongs on autumn tables, in nature-filled rooms, or wherever the rhythm of the year is marked with care.
Let it be a reminder that some stories are felt more than they are told.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
