This illustration was created for the part of you that still believes that the best homes are the ones you stumble upon by accident.
Deep in the forest, where moonlight slips quietly between the trees and robins keep watch like old friends, stands a most unlikely house. A leather boot, softened by time, has become a home — its roof thick with straw, its windows glowing warmly, its heart unmistakably alive. It does not impress. It welcomes.
Home Sweet Home was created from a love of hidden places in old storybooks and the comfort they bring. The kind of places that feel safe simply because they are small, because they hold their light carefully against the dark. It is a fairytale about shelter, about belonging, and about finding warmth where you did not think to look.
This piece is for you if you cherish fairytale storytelling, gentle worlds, and the idea that magic lives close to the ground. It belongs where you rest — in a reading nook, a child’s room, or a place where you remind yourself that enough can be simple.
Let Home Sweet Home whisper to you that wonder does not need grand doors or tall towers. Sometimes, it lives in a mossy boot, waiting for someone to knock on its door.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
