This illustration grew from a childhood wish that never quite faded: to live in the woods, among the animals, where the seasons are felt with your hands and heart.
In an autumn forest washed in gold, a young woman stands among her animal friends. Apples, freshly gathered, are offered freely — not as something special, but as something shared. Deer draw close, leaves drift down, and the air carries that special stillness that belongs only to harvest time.
This piece is for those who feel most at home when the year turns inward. If autumn is your season of comfort, reflection, and quiet gratitude. Deer Delights is about giving back to the land, about small gestures that matter, and about the simple joy of belonging — to nature, to tradition, to a slower rhythm.
Place Deer Delights where you celebrate the turning of the year — on a seasonal table, in a quiet corner, or wherever autumn feels welcome. Let it remind you of a softer way of living, and of that childhood longing we carry with us: to live close to the earth, and to share its gifts with open hands.
Because some wishes grow with us —and become something we can finally bring home.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
