Product description

Postcard – Klaasje
A nostalgic winter postcard inspired by the wonder of Sinterklaasavond.

The snow has fallen quietly over the fields, and a hush lies over the village. In the last light of the afternoon, a girl dressed as Sinterklaas tends to her pony and faithful dog. It’s almost that time… Carrots has been carefully laid out — so hurry up and let’s go home! Because tonight, as everyone knows, Sinterklaas will ride again.

This illustration captures the tender anticipation of December 5th, when songs are sang by the fire and hearts are filled with hope. A tribute to warm traditions, the joy of giving, and the soft magic of winter twilight.

Perfect for seasonal greetings, festive decorating, or to include with a Sinterklaas surprise.

MEET ME

IRIS ESTHER

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.

Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.

My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
