I created “My Dragon and I” with the spirit of Michaelmas in mind — that gentle encouragement toward inner strength as the days grow shorter. A reminder that bravery does not always roar. Sometimes it simply plays.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
