Snowdrops – A Tender Postcard
Beneath the last traces of frost, something begins to stir. At the foot of an old tree, snowdrops rise like small white bells, their heads gently bowed as they push through the cold earth. In the bark and roots, a quiet forest face seems to rest — not fully asleep, but watchful.
This illustration was created in honour of those first fragile signs of spring. The moment when the light shifts almost unnoticed, and the smallest flowers prove themselves stronger than winter.
“Snowdrops” is a gentle postcard to send as encouragement, to mark Imbolc or Candlemas, or simply to welcome the slow turning of the season.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
