When the sun hangs low and round above the fields, a stork makes his steady way across the sky. A small cap sits neatly on his head, and from his beak hangs a carefully carried bundle.
He looks serious about his task — as if what he carries truly matters.
I have always loved the old story of the stork and his quiet deliveries. There is something comforting about the idea that new life arrives not only with noise and excitement, but also with calm purpose and gentle wings.
This illustration carries a soft smile — a nod to tradition, and to the hopeful anticipation that surrounds a new beginning.
A sweet postcard for birth announcements, baby showers, or to send when something wonderful is on its way.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
