Palm Sunday postcard

Product description

In a greenwood clearing, where the light filters through young leaves, a child walks barefoot through the grass. In her hands she carries a Palm Sunday rod, wrapped in ribbons and crowned with golden bread shaped like a hen. Small signs of spring are tucked between the twigs. At her feet, fluffy chicks toddle along, while the mother hen follows close behind.

I created this illustration as a quiet tribute to the Palm Sunday tradition I have always loved and was brought up with — the gentle rhythm of preparing the rod, the colours of the ribbons, the feeling of carrying something meaningful in small hands.

This postcard honours that meeting of nature and ritual, of reverence and renewal. Beautiful for seasonal tables, Easter letters, or to frame as a reminder of how traditions are passed on — hand to hand, year after year.

MEET ME

IRIS ESTHER

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.

Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.

My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
