Product description

Deer Delights – Autumn Postcard

Beneath the wide branches of an old tree, a young woman shares apples with her woodland companions — gentle deer, curious squirrels, and shy hedgehogs. The light falls warm and golden through the leaves. The air carries that familiar scent of autumn and ripening fruit.

As a child, I often imagined living quietly in the forest — perhaps even inside an old tree — offering apples to the animals and belonging, without question, to that world. This illustration grew from that gentle daydream.

“Deer Delights” is also a soft nod to the Waldorf tale Het Appelvrouwtje (The Apple Lady), a story that holds the warmth of harvest and simple generosity.

A lovely postcard for autumn tables, seasonal mail, or as a small gift during the darker months. This design is part of the Whispers of the Wild postcard set.

IRIS ESTHER

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.

Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.

My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
