Trail of Eggs postcard

Product description

Once, in that quiet hour between evening and night, when the air cools and the ground still holds the warmth of the day, a hare pauses in a moonlit clearing. Dew rests on the grass. On his back sits a small gnome, steady and calm, holding a basket filled with carefully painted eggs.

When I was little, I often wondered whether the Easter bunny truly worked alone. The task always seemed too large for just one pair of paws. Perhaps, I thought, there must be helpers in the shadows — small, watchful figures who knew the forest paths by heart.

This illustration grew from that childhood question. A quiet nod to the world of woodland stories I have always loved, and to the work of Rien Poortvliet, whose artworks made the forest feel alive and inhabited by unseen companions.

If you follow the faint trail they leave behind, you might begin to imagine it too — that the Easter bunny has never worked alone.

A postcard for those who still enjoy wondering what moves gently through the night, just beyond the edge of sight.

MEET ME

IRIS ESTHER

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.

Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.

My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
