This illustration was created for those who love the darker nights when the world grows quiet and imagination feels close.
By the soft glow of an oil lamp, a seamstress sits in her small stone cottage. Outside her window, the night waits patiently. With careful hands, she stitches threads of starlight into the dark sky — one seam at a time, tending to something fragile and important. Two cats keep watch, knowing this work must not be hurried.
The Seamstress of Stars was created from a longing to believe that darkness is never empty. That when evening falls, someone gentle is at work — mending, restoring, keeping the night beautiful for those who need it.
This piece is created for those who love the quiet magic of lamplight, the comfort of old fairytales, and the feeling that the world is being cared for even when you cannot see how. It belongs in places where dreams are welcome — a bedroom, a nursery, a seasonal corner, or any space where you pause at the end of the day.
Let The Seamstress of Stars remind you that light is never lost — it is only patiently stitched back into place. And that the night, too, is something made with love.

I’m Iris Esther, an illustrator and mother of two, creating illustrated art, art prints, postcards, and small paper goods from my forest-side home studio. With a green birdhouse in the first tree outside my window, I work guided by nature, fairytales, changing seasons and by a deep love for making art by hand.
Growing up, being outside wasn’t a destination but a way of living. My art grew from that same gentle rhythm.
My illustrations are made to quietly support everyday life — bringing a sense of enchantment to family celebrations, seasonal rituals, and small moments that matter.
